TICKETS - KYUSHU BASHO

Kyushu Basho 2026 tickets: when they go on sale and how to buy

General ticket sale for the 2026 Kyushu Basho opens on 19 September at 10:00 Japan time, through the official Grand Sumo ticket site and authorised agents. Weekend days and the final days sell fastest. If a day is sold out, use the official resale service or a licensed agent - not an unofficial reseller, which can mean being refused entry.

The 19 September 10:00 on-sale time and the 8-22 November dates are for the 2026 Kyushu Basho. On-sale times and conditions change between tournaments; confirm with the Japan Sumo Association and the official ticket site. Japan Sumo Association ↗

What you are seeing

  • The same seat types as Tokyo: floor box seats sold as a unit, and chair seats on the upper level sold per person.
  • Prices that vary by day of the week and by seat class; check the current price chart rather than relying on old figures.
  • A fast drop in availability for Saturdays, Sundays, and the last few days of the tournament.

What to watch next

  1. Decide your date and seat type before the on-sale time so you can book quickly.
  2. For one person or a first visit, an upper-level chair seat is the simplest choice.
  3. If you miss the general sale, check the official resale service before looking anywhere else.
03

A common first-timer mistake

Buying from an unofficial resale site to get a sold-out day. Tickets bought outside the official channels can be rejected at the gate.
